50 books in a year of being 50

In this year of being 50 I have decided to follow one of my creative passions
and make 50 handmade books over the year.

Early next year I will find a way to exhibit the books and auction them.

The money raised will go to Plum Village in France,
a monastic retreat centre inaugurated by Vietnamese Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh.

Book number 39, Coptic marbling

Current bid for this book stands at £10
This book is from an idea I saw on pinterest and have been wanting to do for a while. It has several signatures (sections of book pages) sewn together across the spine but the edge of each signature is decorated with a piece of marbled paper, so the decoration continues from the front cover, across the spine and onto the back.
It measures 10.5 x 15cm and has 124 pages.

This is the front cover of the book with the stitching clearly visible.

This is the spine with the marbling decorating the edge of each signature.
